Corporal Tom and bed block

Cultybraggan Experience

Suitable for primary school children P5 and upwards

The children are met by the corporal who teaches them drill and marches them to their Nissen hut where they can leave belongings. They are then divided into smaller groups and rotate around activities based on the camp's history. If the class is studying the Second World War, they will focus on 1940s civilian and military life. The children will be able to handle artefacts and try on uniforms. The visit ends with a quiz.

Secondary School Visits

The camp is useful for classes studying community ownership and/or history, in particular the Second World and Cold Wars. Guided tours can be arranged to suit your subject and will include a tour of the museum and the camp.
